Jon Cryer is returning to broadcast television.
The Two and a Half Men two-time Emmy winner has been tapped to star in ABC comedy pilot Losing It, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Losing It is a single-camera half-hour comedy about three adult siblings and their parents who - between their minds, their marriages, their freedom, and life - are all losing it in different ways.
Cryer will star as Andy, a successful acupuncturist who has turned to Eastern Philosophy as a way to cope with his crazy family. While he's close with his mother, his relationship with his father is complicated -  especially since Andy has to care for his dad, who never really took care of him. Andy is a bit of a control freak who believes he can fix anything -  except for maybe his marriage, which has been in trouble since he caught his wife with another man. Natalie Morales co-stars as Andy's younger sister.
Losing It marks Cryer's return to broadcast following his 12-season run on CBS' Chuck Lorre comedy Two and a Half Men. Since Men wrapped in 2015, Cryer has published a best-selling memoir and has guest starred in episodes of Lorre's CBS comedy Mom, NCIS, Netflix's Lady Dynamite as well as The Ranch, opposite his former co-star, Ashton Kutcher. He's repped by UTA and Myman Greenspan.
Up All Night's DJ Nash will pen the script and exec produce the ABC Studios entry alongside Kapital Entertainment's Aaron Kaplan and Dana Honor. Julie Anne Robinson will direct the pilot.
The casting immediately moves Losing It into a serious contender to go to series given Cryer's position as a marketable and proven TV star.
